Quantum Information Science on the Intersections of Nuclear and AMO Physics

America/New_York
Kyungseon Joo (University of Connecticut), Robin Cote (UMass Boston)
Description

Research and Innovation in Quantum Information Science (QIS) are enormously challenging and derived from many fields. This workshop aims to initiate interdisciplinary efforts between researchers from nuclear, high energy, atomic, molecular, and optical (AMO), and condensed matter physics as well as computational science, especially providing new opportunities to address challenges at the intersection of nuclear and AMO physics. The workshop is to discuss challenges by exchanging ideas and concepts, as well as developing tools from a theoretical and experimental perspective, and encourage exploitation of the interdisciplinary nature of Quantum Computing and QIS to expand the frontiers of research of enormous interest and complexity in QIS.
